The most famous and lovable song of 60’s and loved by numerous of us till now. Beautifully written by Raja Mehdi Ali Khan sung by Lata Mangeshkar has now been one of the favorite song reprised by many famous artists.
From the movie Woh Kaun Thi, the song represents a beautiful chemistry and feeling of love between two people and often categorized as a romantic song. But what if I say, this song is romantic though but teaches you some of life’s most important lessons. Didn’t get me? You will soon understand what I wanted to say when I say “Life lesson” from this song.
Starting from the first lines,
Lag Ja gale, ke fir haseen rat ho na ho
Shayad fir is janam men, mulakat ho na ho
Hugs are a great form of spreading happiness around and letting other people know that you care. Hope you remember what Munna said in Munna Bhai MBBS, “Jadu ki jhapi”. But getting so busy in life, or sometimes staying filled by our hard emotions of ego, hatred, anger etc, we forget it. So, what I learned here was, that share love with other people around you today because you never know if you will get this chance again or not, will you see him or her again or not. So, let not this moment or day wasted in hatred or anger against another person whose day or life could have been a bit better with your single gesture of love. This will also make you feel light in yourself because carrying the feeling of anger or hatred is really heavy for our heart. So, always accept, forgive and spread the love.

Humko mili hai aj ye ghadiyan naseeb se
Jee bhar ke dekh lijiye humko kareeb se
Fir apke naseeb men ye bat ho na ho
Shayad fir is janam men mulakat ho na ho
As the very first line here clearly says “Every moment of life is something you get is your luck and you should be thankful about every moment you are living.” People living around you also have there own struggles in life like you. Watch them closely, help them to achieve, you never know when time turns around and you don’t get to see him/her again ever and you feel regretful or repent for this because you could have brought that smile or made his/her life better but you didn’t, exactly what second and third line could mean.
That guy or girl in your office looking good or working hard or seems worried, you might not see tomorrow but your one line today “You look great. Have a great day.” could change his/her day and life’s perspective. Our small gestures, like, just a good morning with a smile can change the start of the day of someone’s life but we forget this in our busyness and coldness towards the positive happy feelings and sharing them.
“Love is just like knowledge, more you share more you get”
and we forget to do so…
Paas aaiye ke hum nhi aaenge bar bar
Bahen gale men dal ke hum roe le zar zar
Aankhon se fir ye pyaar ki barsaat ho na ho
Shayad fir is janam men mulakat ho na ho
Coming to the last paragraph and the first line, it teaches one of the most important fact “Not to take anything for granted” neither people nor the time or the moments you are living. Everything of this is important and once gone never gets back. Time and Relationships are a major part of our life and are what has given us the most in life. But we forget its value and repent later. We forget valuing people in our life, valuing the time we spent living with us or them, or being happy in every moment we get. No one will beg to be in your life and time will not wait for you, if you don’t value them today, you will repent once you lose them, so hold them today. Let them know they are important how they are valuable to your life, making their days and lives better and spending your time wisely to get the best out of it.
I hope now you exactly know what “life lessons” I talked about in the start and now you can also see the other perspective of a romantic song.
